Dog Friendly Stays in Perthshire

At the Meikleour Arms, good dogs are always most welcome! From walks on the estate to snoozing by the fire, it really is a dog's life!

When it comes to pooch-friendly stays, we’re top dog! As Scotland’s top dog-friendly hotel we have learned that happy dogs make happy guests, simply let us know in advance if you are bringing your four legged companions as not all areas are suitable.

Please let us know by phone or email if you are bringing a dog, we will then reply with confirmation. While we are keen dog lovers ourselves, there is a maximum number of dogs that can be allowed in our premises. While this is a situation we all want to avoid we reserve the right to cancel your booking if you don’t let us know 48h in advance – thanks for your understanding. If you need a pet-sitter or dog walker during you stay we recommend the fully accredited local business Blairgowrie Walkies. Please note that dogs are not allowed on beds or soft furnishings.

If you have booked your accommodation directly with us, dogs are welcome to stay for free. If you have booked via a third party there will be a £15 charge per dog per night. We reserve the right to invoice for extra cleaning or damage, especially if dogs were left alone in accommodation or allowed on furnishing and beds.

Please read our full dog policy here

Doggie Dining

Well behaved dogs are very welcome in our restaurant, however do let us know in advance if you are bringing a dog. Just as with our human customers we expect furry guests to be appropriately well behaved and reasonably tidy (we have doggy/muddy boots hoses at the cottages and at the hotel and towels if required). If your dog is on the large size, bear in mind that they might not be comfortable under a table in close vicinity of other guests. Please appreciate that for the comfort of everyone, we can’t allow dogs expressing sign of stress in our busy restaurant (barking, agitation..)

Walks on the Estate

There are wonderful walks around the estate for you and your furry friends, from the North Wood by the hotel, to the River Tay path with its pebble beach by the Stable Cottages – just ask a member of staff for directions. Most of the river bank we own and manage is part of a protected wildlife scheme: make sure that your dog is under control at all times, especially during ground bird nesting season (May to July). Be mindful of salmon anglers (fishing lures are sharp) and of the horses and hens in the field near the Stables.
